Celebrities opinions on the conflict oppression

Israeli air raids on the besieged Gaza Strip and rocket fire from the enclave’s ruling Hamas group this week mark the biggest flare-up since the seven-week Israeli war on Gaza in 2014. (AlJazeera)

In May 2021, after the IDF attacked and killed innocent Palestinians that live in Ghaza in order to steal their homes away like they have been doing for decades, some of my favorite celebrities decided to speak about the whole situation. I was surprised to see that people were quite interested in what has been happening, whether they support Palestine or Israel because I always thought that middle eastern news did not interest many, and especially not western people.

Rihanna

“My heart is breaking with the violence I’m seeing displayed between Israel and Palestine! I can’t bear to see it! Innocent Israeli and Palestinian children are hiding in bomb shelters, over 40 lives lost in Gaza alone, at least 13 of whom were also innocent children! There needs to be some kind of resolve! We are sadly watching innocent people fall victim to notions perpetrated by government and extremists, and this cycle needs to be broken!" (Instagram of Rihanna)

Honestly, like I mentioned earlier, u can not be neutral in an unfair situation like this! Unlike Israelis that are protected by the Israeli Government, Palestinians have no protections, no shelters, no more homes, houses, nothing...It is cruel and wrong to compare these two situations trying to show that Israelis are struggling as well because, even if they are, they will always have the support of their rich and developed government, of the states, and tons of other enriched countries...

Bella Hadid (she is half Palestinian from her dad's side)

"Future generations will look back in disbelief and wonder how we allowed the Palestinian suffering to continue for so long. A human tragedy unfolding right in front of our eyes. Politicians stutter neutral words in fear of being reprimanded, whilst the world remains silent to avoid offending the wrong people. History has taught us to speak up. You are on the right side or you are not. It’s that simple. Everyone should be speaking up about what’s happening in Palestine.” (Instagram of Bella Hadid)

This is perfectly said.
Bella, unlike a ton of other Palestinians and Muslim influencers and content creators, is not ashamed and scared to lose her sponsors by standing with what is right and I admire her for that. If people do not speak up about what is going on and raise awareness then Palestine will be forgotten by the future generation.

To conclude, be careful who you support, because, unlike Bella, tons of influencers are afraid to lose their western reputation especially knowing that the states of America are Israel's closest ally and that most of their followers come from America!

  1. I found your blog super interesting and I’ve learned a lot on this subject of the Zionist movement. It’s an important issue that is not well known to young Westerners like us. It is a sad reality that innocent people are getting killed for no reason and that Israles are trying to take over Palestines. I have a lot of respect for the fact that when you were living in Lebanon, you did your research on the Palestinans conflict and made your own opinion. Great Job! I watched the video ‘ Can Israel and Palestinians see eye to eye’? I found this video very interesting and learned a lot of the subject when the people were talking to each other. I believe most people see eye to eye and can see each other's point of view. I believe everyone should watch these videos and learn more on this subject.
